May 3, 2006: RIGHT OF PERMANENT RESIDENCE FEE REDUCED

As of May 3, 2006, the Right of Permanent Residence Fee was lowered from $975 to $490 for immigrants in all classes.

Those who paid the Right of Permanent Residence Fee, but did not become a permanent resident until after 12:00 a.m. EDT on May 3, 2006, are entitled to a refund. For more information, go to http:/​/​www.cic.gc.ca/​english/​resid-fee/​index.html
